Your Itinerary

DAY 1 ASTRONOMY DEMO

Let’s study the night sky with astronomy expert Paco. We’ll head to a spot on the outskirts of Ronda where we’ll learn about the constellations and how to navigate using the stars as a guide. We’ll be able to see Jupiter and Saturn through the telescope. Plus, the full moon will be visible on this date. This in itself is a truly unique and humbling moment which we would recommend you experience at least once in your life! As an extra treat, from this very spot, we’ll get breathtaking views of Ronda’s Tajo bridge by night.

DAY 2 WHITE WATER RAFTING

Let’s have a blast as we tackle some rapids on the River Genil! We’ll get the adrenaline pumping and the feel-good hormones flowing as we experience the raw nature of this beautiful paradise. It wouldn’t be a real rafting experience if you didn’t get wet! In fact, a dip in the turquoise river is the perfect way to cool off in the August heat.

DAY 3 CORK FOREST EXPERIENCE WITH LOG CABIN FEAST

Let’s take a leisurely walk through an enchanting cork forest where we’ll learn all about these majestic trees and how the cork is extracted. Andalusia is one of the world’s largest cork producers and just for you,we have coincided our August trip with the cork harvesting season! Afterwards, we’ll have a scrumptious homemade feast in a beautiful log cabin nestled in the forest.

DAY 4 SUNSET KAYAKING

What better way to end our trip than with kayaking at sunset on a tranquil mountain lake. First we’ll take a walk around the charming Zahara de la Sierra, one of Andalusia’s traditional white-washed villages perched on top of a hill. There we’ll have dinner before descending to the lake for our kayaking experience. We can assure you that you’ll feel blissfully relaxed by the end of the day.

Depending on your flight time, there’s the option of going for a walk in the beautiful Tajo valley, sipping coffee while you watch the world go by or checking out Ronda’s many sights.

August is Ronda’s hottest month of the year. Expect temperatures of up to 30°C (86°F) in the afternoons with balmy evenings with around 20°C (68°F). Most of our activities in the hotter months take place in the mornings in order to avoid the hot afternoon sun. We also have many water-based activities in summer so that you can cool off easily . For more info, check out this link.

TRANSPORT

You can fly to either Malaga or Seville airport. Take a 20-minute airport shuttle to Malaga or Seville bus station then take a public bus to Ronda. There are 4-5 buses each day and they both take approximately 2 hours. The price is approximately 12 Euros, one-way. The route is very easy and none of our travellers this year had any problems. Once you book, we will send you all the info that you need to get here. You also have the option of joining a WhatsApp group for your trip. That way, you can coordinate with the other travellers and travel together if you wish. It’s all part of the adventure!

FOOD

Untitled design (49).png

All organised foodie activities are vegetarian friendly. If you have any specific dietary requirements, let us know on the booking form and we will try to accommodate you. It is worth pointing out that Ronda is a mountain town and therefore a little behind the big cities when it comes to alternative diets. Vegan options in restaurants can be limited so please don’t expect creative and diverse vegan dishes. Eating out is fairly inexpensive in Ronda. Tapas range from 1 Euro to 5 Euros each. A coffee costs 1-2 Euros. In the evenings, we will eat out together in some of our favorite joints. When lunch is not included in the activity of the day, you can take your pick of great local eateries. At the beginning of the trip, we will give you some suggestions. Breakfast is included in the price.
