DAY 1 ASTRONOMY DEMO
Let’s study the night’s sky with astronomy expert Paco. We’ll head to a spot on the outskirts of Ronda where we’ll learn about the constellations and how to navigate using the stars as a guide. At this time of the year, using the telescope, we should be ale to see Mars along with the setting Jupiter and Saturn. As an extra treat, from this very spot, we’ll get breathtaking views of Ronda’s bridge by night.
DAY 2 ARTISAN GOAT’S CHEESE MAKING
Let’s make Payoyo goat’s cheese the traditional way with Alex, a local artisan goat’s cheese maker! The Payoyo goat is a mountain goat indigenous to the region. Known for its hardiness, it is roams freely and this is thought to be the reason why it produces such high quality milk. We’ll all get stuck in and make our own goat’s cheese using traditional methods. Afterwords we’ll have a tasting session of some of the varieties of Payoyo cheese. You will even be able to go home with your home made creation.
DAY 3 HOME COOKING EXPERIENCE
Get a taste of home cooking, Ronda style, with our knowledgeable cooking enthusiast Paty. We’ll all get stuck in and learn to cook some traditional Spanish grub using local seasonal produce. After, we’ll sit down and enjoy the feast together. All dishes are vegetarian friendly.
DAY 4 MUSHROOM FORAGING AND LOG CABIN FEAST
We’ll head into the forest with our nature guides Clara and JuanFra to identify and collect some wild edible mushrooms and wild fruits. Later we’ll head back to the log cabin where we’ll cook up and taste our harvest. We will also learn how the wild fruits are used to make tinctures for consumption and the health benefits they each have.
